A difficult year for Ayuda a los Niños:

‘Ayuda a los Niños Costalegre A.C.’ has had a difficult season, having suffered from threats and public insults from an offended excluded member of the charity and his friends. We were also notified, on March 4th 2010, that the same ex-member had previously signed a contract for us to take on the administration of the housing project in Jaluco, built by SEDESOL and the Cihuatlán Town Hall. As this was a complete surprise to the rest of our members, we signed for the Cihuatlán Town Hall to take charge, as we neither have the funding nor the experience to do so.

For a history of events regarding this case,, please download the following pdf documents:

Ayuda a los Niños Statement 1 - 15th February 2010
Ayuda a los Niños Statement 2 - 16th March 2010

We would like to thank all of you who have shown us support through this difficult period, and have given us the strength to carry on working towards meeting our goals.

The ‘Ayuda a los Niños Costalegre A.C.’ bus:
The bus purchased by ‘Ayuda a los Niños Costalegre A.C.’, using funds donated from the Mexican government (SEDESOL and INDESOL), is currently not in use due to the lack of federal licence plates for the vehicle. Unfortunately, the company that sold us the bus (SITRO) still owes us the correct receipt, without which we are not able to get the necessary paperwork to request the licence plates.

This bus was purchased to be used to transport the children of the migrant farm workers to and from the school that we built for them in Jaluco, with the co investment from the VIVE program.

A.L. Fortune Secondary School, Enderby, B.C. Canada
This school with an attendance of 350 pupils raised $350 cad, $150 was raised through their social studies classes and the other $200 was collected via donations.

Grade 10 were learning about developing countries and trying to end the poverty cycle. They chose Ayuda a los Niños Costalegre because they see education as the key.

"We are happy to contribute to the school and the indigenous people of Mexico"
