Ayuda a los Niños began in 2002 as an effort by seasonal residents of the Costalegre to provide some support towards the medical and educational needs of underprivileged children in and around Melaque. In 2008, ‘Ayuda a los Niños Costalegre Asociación Civil’ was registered as a Mexican charitable organization.

Operating as an entirely volunteer driven, non-religious, non-political group, Ayuda a los Niños Costalegre A.C. depends on a growing number of volunteers as well as local and international businesses and governmental reward programmes. Our fundraising events include concerts, raffles and auctions running from December through March each year.

Our projects to date have included sponsoring children to attend the only special needs school in the area, paying medical costs for local children, building a school and clinic for migrant farm workers and their families, and paying medical costs for a young boy on a waiting list for heart surgery. Musicians

A large part of our fundraising relies on the talent of musicians from various parts of the world who donate their time each year to provide us with excellent entertainment in the form of benefit concerts.
